The late Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Emmanuel Kwabena Kyeremnateng Agyarko, was the toast of ladies during his youthful days when he started practising as a pharmacist at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, first wife Josephine Agyarko has revealed.

Mr. Kyeremateng Agyarko passed away on November 21, 2018 in the United States after a protracted ailment.

At a burial service Saturday, January 26, at the Zimmerman Presbyterian Church at Krobo Odumase in the Lower Manya Krobo municipality of the Eastern Region., Mrs. Agyarko paid a glowing tribute to her late husband taking a dive back into time when they first met in their twenties.

According to her, Mr. Agyarko was a born-again Christian, yet very irresistible to young ladies who wished to have him for a husband.

“At the time he was doing his National Service at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, I was in the final year in the university. He was 28 and I was 25, we were both born-again Christians and we loved the Lord. We got married on 4th January 1986. He was a charming and eloquent young pharmacist, every young lady wanted to be brother Emmanuel’s wife,” she said.

Mrs. Agyarko said they grew up loving each other and growing a family,  but noted they also had their own peculiar challenges, just like any other family.

She noted specifically that they did not live together in the last few years, but Mr. Agyarko still took keen interest in everything that went on in the family and her life, especially with her textiles business.

She also observed that their relationship started in the house of the Lord before witnesses and it has in death ended in the house of God before witnesses.

She thus prayed for the repose of the soul of her late husband.

The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah also read a tribute on behalf of the government of Ghana while Deputy Majority Leader Sarah Adwoa Safo read one on behalf of Parliament.
