Minister of Communication, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has called on Ghanaians to stop blaming President Akufo-Addo for the ongoing galamsey crisis in Ghana.

According to her the issue of galamsey should be solved as a national issue, government or the president should not be blamed for it.

In an interview on an Accra based radio station she said, “At this point, Let’s stop this name calling. Let’s stop this finger-pointing and let’s fight it together because we have all contributed to where we are today we all have a part to play”.

She appealed to institutions warning to strike to stop as the strike will not draw the government’s attention to the issue.

“The strike won’t draw the government’s attention, they have been grappling with it since 2017 but it shows the gravity of the problems we came to meet” she added.

She disclosed that they have done everything possible and are still doing all they can to solve the issue at hand and need Ghanaians to collaborate to help solve the problem.
