Hundreds of people including the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia and the chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mr. Bernard Mornah have begun the demonstration to protest the shootings at the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election dubbed “Aagbe Wo” Thursday morning.
The demonstrators wielding numerous placards with inscriptions like Boot 4Boot, Ghana Beyond Delta Force, Ghana is no longer safe, Nana Addo is a tyrant among others are marching through the principal streets of Accra for the ‘Aagbe wo’ protest march.
Meanwhile the former President, John Dramani Mahama has endorsed the demonstration and called on all members of the National Democratic Congress to participate in it.
In a tweet on Wednesday, he wrote: “I welcome the Initiative of the Inter-Party Coalition for National Sovereignty and I encourage all members of the NDC to participate in tomorrow’s demonstration. Let’s show to the world that we stand for peace and that the violence displayed at Ayawaso West Wuogon has no place in our democracy.”
