Ghana’s number one urban and pace setting radio, YFM this Easter brings to its ardent listeners and the entire Ghana a much deserved relief from the lockdown boredom with the YFM Clash of the DJs.

The Clash of the DJs is a Y triangle tournament with DJs of YFM Accra (107.9), YFM Kumasi (102.5) and YFM Takoradi (97.9) going on a head to head battle to finally settle the debate of supremacy on the turn tables.

The battle which is set to shut down Ghana on Saturday, 11 April 2020 will have Y – Accra’s reputation upheld or tainted by the shutdown king himself, DJ MicSmith, DJ Loft and AD DJ. Repping Y-Kumasi are, DJ Bongo, DJ Carcious and DJ Lexes. Y-Takoradi will be coming in sharp with the hotsqaud, DJ Gunshot, DJ Edita and DJ Suraka.

DJs will display their prowess in five thematic musical areas, Mefri Ghana, Contemporary HipHop, Afrobeats, Throwback and R&B and Soul all within a space of fifteen minutes per round.

Organizers of the battle disclosed that the winning team will be determined by 50% public votes and the other 50% will be determined by a team of three judges. The judges, Hammer of the last 2, Happy98.9FM’s DJ Advicer and DJ Rab will score teams based on their song selection, mixes and candence.

Speaking on behalf of all three Programme Managers (PM), Eddy Blay, PM of Y-Accra had this to say. “Mohammed decided not to go to the mountain so we are bringing the mountain down to him. The YFM clash of the DJ’s is making up for the Easter festivities ruined by the COVID-19 outbreak. I entreat everyone to join us on air and on all our social media platforms at 7pm this Saturday as we take this year’s Easter festivities to a whole new virtual level.”

He also advised listeners to regard preventive measures and directives on COVID-19 for their own safety.

To experience this epic battle of the DJs tune in to Y107.9FM, Y102.5FM or Y97.9FM if you’re in Accra, Kumasi or Takoradi respectively. You can also witness the battle live @1079fm @1025fm @979fm on Instagram and Facebook.
