The Headmaster of Kukuom Agricultural Senior High School in the Ahafo Region, Robert Osei Antwi has expressed concern over the low turnout of first-year students reporting for the new academic year.
Speaking to the media, he revealed that although 314 students were placed in the school, only 149 had reported as of the reopening date a situation he described as worrying and discouraging.
Mr. Antwi explained that the school had initially requested 1,300 first-year students, but was allocated 314. Despite the reduced placement, the number of students reporting remains significantly low.
He emphasized that Kukuom Agric SHS has adequate infrastructure to accommodate over 1,000 students, adding that the poor turnout does not reflect the school’s capacity.
The Headmaster appealed to parents and guardians to ensure that their wards who were placed in the school report promptly, noting that academic activities have already begun.
He also mentioned that a protocol admission system is available for interested students who wish to enroll and encouraged parents to visit the school’s management for assistance.
