A fierce blaze has swept through several wooden structures at Madina Ritz Junction in Accra, triggering a swift emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service.
According to GNFS officials, three fire tenders from the Madina, Legon, and Abelemkpe fire stations rushed to the scene as firefighters launched an intense operation to douse the flames.
The fire erupted in the densely populated area on the night of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, quickly consuming makeshift homes and kiosks. Firefighters are working tirelessly to stop the blaze from spreading to nearby structures.
Although the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, authorities have confirmed that no casualties have been reported yet.
GNFS assured the public of their commitment, stating: “Trust your gallant firefighters to swiftly work hard to bring the situation under control.”
Meanwhile, some affected residents, now left with nothing, are pleading with the government to come to their aid.
“Everything is gone… We don’t know where to sleep tonight. We’re begging the government to help us.”
