The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it has observed that the Presidential Candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has no message for Ghanaians and is “now sounding more and more like a candidate who has already accepted defeat”.

Speaking at the Party’s weekly press conference held at the Alisa Hotel, the Member of Parliament for Mpraeso and a member of the Defence Committee of Parliament. Seth Acheampong said: “John Mahama has been using his campaign rally not so much to rally support for his message as he has no message. Increasingly, he is sounding more and more like a candidate who has already accepted defeat. He has been on the grounds and he knows well that he is not on the grounds. His message for change has not been trusted by the public and his negative campaign against Nana Addo and the NPP is not getting him anywhere”.

He furthered that the ex-President has used his campaign time to “vilify” the Electoral Commission (EC) when in fact a pre-election report by the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has proven that Ghanaians including followers of the NDC have trust in the EC.

Seth Acheampong encouraged Ghanaians to go out in their numbers to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo; a leader he believes Ghanaians can trust. “The NPP is winning for sure and NDC knows it. But that feeling won’t be possible if people don’t come out massively to vote. Give Mahama a clear, decisive and incontestable defeat”, he added.
