Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress and former President, John Dramani Mahama has pledged to restore hope and integrity to Ghana by addressing the systemic issues of corruption and rejuvenate the country’s governance.

Mr. Mahama criticized the NPP government of corruption, nepotism, theft, waste of national resources and impunity.

According to him, this is what has necessitated his decision to run for office as president again.

In a Facebook post on Friday, June 21, 2024, Mr. Mahama wrote, “Unspeakable corruption, nepotism, brazen theft, waste of national resources, impunity, and general criminality have become the hallmarks of Ghana’s current government.

With the national spirit sinking to an all-time low and hopelessness engulfing our country, a change in governance and direction is imperative.

That is why I have decided to run for office as President”, underscoring his dedication to restoring transparency and trust in government.
