The Manhyia Palace has declared a ban on all funerals across Asanteman on Thursday, August 21, 2025, to allow the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman to observe the one-week commemoration of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, formally announced the queenmother’s passing on August 11, 2025, during a mandatory Asanteman Council meeting attended by all paramount chiefs and clan representatives.

In a statement issued on August 12, the Palace said the one-week observance will be held at Bogyawe, Manhyia Palace, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with all funerals suspended in honour of the late queen mother.

Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 98. She ascended the stool on February 6, 2017, succeeding her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem III, who died in 2016 at the age of 111.
