Medeama SC and Dreams FC await group stage opponents as CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup draws near

The highly anticipated draws for the group stages of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup are set to take place on Friday, October 6, 2023, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Football enthusiasts around the continent are eagerly awaiting the event.

Scheduled to kick off at 12:00 GMT, the proceedings will begin with the Confederation Cup draw, followed by the Champions League draw at 13:00 GMT. This marks a crucial step in the journey of the 16 qualified clubs from each competition after a fiercely contested preliminary round that began in August.

Among the distinguished teams participating in the draw are Al Ahly SC (CAFCL) and USM Alger (CAFCC), the reigning champions, as well as other renowned African football clubs, all vying for continental glory this season. Notable entries in the Champions League include Ghanaian champions Medeama SC, who surprised Guinean giants Horoya AC in the second preliminary round.

Meanwhile, Dreams FC, winners of the Ghana FA Cup, have secured their place in the Confederation Cup group phase, adding to the excitement of the draw day.
