Ndukwe Emmanuel ‘Ejay’, one of the leading student activist in S.D. Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (formerly UDS Wa Campus) and now a candidate for the SRC Secretary portfolio in the upcoming Interim Management Committee organized general SRC election is calling on student to rally behind him to ensure students are given competent representation and advocacy with positive results. He opins that the SRC Secretary position is not limited to writing of minutes, reports, notices and other basic functions defined in the SRC constitution. To him an SRC secretary must go beyond that and give the students a competent representation during council meeting and be audacious enough to ensure students interests are put forth and advocated for even against the odds especially to management members without fear or favor.

Ndukwe Emmanuel is an old student of Ebenezer Senior High School in Dansoman, Accra; where he was the Vice President of the SRC and Debate Club President among others. Subsequently he was elected the Deputy General Secretary of the Greater Accra Region SRC for the 2015/2015 academic year. He is a Member of the U.S – Ghana Alumni Association having participated in the Pan-African Youth Leadership Exchange Programme in the United States of America. Currently, Ndukwe Emmanuel is the Majority Leader of the S.D.D UBIDS Youth Parliament and prior to that was the Hon. Deputy Majority Leader and a Finalist of the Parliament of Ghana/ Westminster Foundation for Democracy Inter-Tertiary Student Parliament Commonwealth Debate and Quiz Competition in 2020.

When not attending Youth and Leadership Summits, being a Panel Member at a Conference or Advocating for Youth Participation in Leadership and Governance, he busies himself with authoring on his blog site; theemmanuelndukwe.wordpres.com where he publishes Social, Development and Youth Leadership themed write-ups.

Having put up a sterling performance at the Vetting of aspirants on 15th February, 2021 where we garnered the overall highest scoring average of 82%, he believes that by God, the advocacy work he had done successively on behalf of students which includes but not limited to recently being the lead advocate for the reduction of a hike in the fees for this academic year which yielded positive results and his support base on campus, he is poised to win his bid in ascending to the office of the SRC Secretary Position.

Well, the General SC elections at S.D.D UBIDS comes off on Monday 22nd February, 2021. We wish Ndukwe Emmanuel ‘Ejay’ all the best in his quest to ascend the office of the SRC Secretary and hope the student populace will rally behind the ‘Aspire With Ejay’ Agenda to deliver a Secretary that transcend the Secretariat.
