Ghana’s former Ambassador to India, Mike Oquaye Jnr., has called on Indian automobile and motor vehicle company Arash Motors Ltd. to expand its market dominance into Africa by establishing its continental headquarters in Ghana.
The diplomat made this appeal while speaking at the official launch of the Africa on Apache motor tour, a collaborative initiative between the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and Arash Motors Ltd. He highlighted that the company’s flagship brand, TVS, is already well-known among motor riders in Ghana. He believes that the move will enhance the company’s reach across the continent.
“I’m very happy that not only are they in Ghana, but they are looking at a standing in Africa,” he said.
With Arash Motors Ltd. already operating offices across a number of continents, Oquaye emphasized the potential for job creation and skills development among the country’s youth.
“I know you have factories in India, you have another one in Indonesia—we want you to bring one to Ghana to supply the whole of Africa from here. This will create jobs and opportunities for our teeming youth,” he urged.
On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Ghana Tourism Authority officially launched the Africa on Apache tour in partnership with Arash Motors Ltd. The campaign features the new Apache RTR 180 and aims to engage Ghana’s youth by showcasing the excitement and functionality of the vehicle line.
