The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment led by Hon. George Opare Addo is set to convene the National Youth Forum 2026, a major national platform designed to give young people across Ghana the opportunity to directly share their concerns, priorities, ideas and expectations on issues affecting their lives and future.
The forum, scheduled for Wednesday, 19th August 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium, UPSA, Accra, will be held under the theme:
“A Sound Youth, A Sound Nation: Your Voice. Your Future. Our Ghana.”
The initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to placing young people at the centre of conversations on youth development and creating a direct channel through which their voices can inform policies, programmes and interventions.
The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment; Hon. George Opare Addo will lead the engagement, bringing together young people and key institutions responsible for youth development under one platform.
The forum will also bring together the leadership of all agencies under the Ministry, including the National Youth Authority (NYA), Youth Employment Agency (YEA), National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), and National Service Authority (NSA). Their participation is expected to provide young people with an opportunity to engage directly with the institutions implementing programmes and services targeted at them.
The Ministry is also partnering with the Ghana Youth Federation, a national youth platform, to broaden youth participation and ensure that the concerns and perspectives of young people from different backgrounds and parts of the country are represented in the national conversation.
The partnership extends to the media, with YFM serving as a critical media partner for the forum due to its niche dominance young audience broadcasting and other media platforms.
The forum will be live streamed on the ministry’s social media pages and also live on many media platforms including YFM.
Through this collaboration, young people who are unable to attend the forum physically will still have the opportunity to follow the discussions and participate in the conversation.
The Ministry is encouraging young people to attend the forum and come prepared to share their concerns, priorities, ideas and expectations for Ghana’s youth development agenda.
The forum also provides an opportunity for young people to engage directly with the Ministry and its agencies on the programmes, opportunities and interventions available to them, while highlighting areas where greater attention and action are required.
The National Youth Forum 2026 is therefore positioned as more than a one-day event; it is intended to strengthen dialogue between young people, government and youth-focused institutions and create a platform for young people to have a meaningful voice in shaping the future of Ghana.
