The honorable Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempreh has sworn in the governing council of the University of Cape Coast.

The Minister on behalf of the government expressed appreciation to the members of the council for accepting the call from government to serve the nation.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony today, the minister emphasized that, they [governing council] “were appointed to serve on the council because of their contributions to public service and national life, knowledge of the tertiary landscape in Ghana, experience, sense of duty and integrity”.

He also appealed to the council to uphold these qualities for which they were appointed and help in the furtherance of quality education in the university.

However the alumni representative on the council was not sworn in as approval is still pending.
