The Ministry of Education has announced the successful payment of outstanding teacher allowances that were scheduled for November 2025, following the resolution of a technical challenge in the payroll system.

In a statement issued and signed by the Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the Ministry said the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has completed the processing and payment of the two categories of teacher allowances affected by the delay.

According to the Ministry, a technical issue encountered during the final payroll run prevented the allowances from being paid as planned.

The challenge has since been resolved by the CAGD, allowing the payments to be completed.

The Ministry of Education expressed regret over the delay and apologized to all affected teachers for any inconvenience caused.

It also commended teachers across the country for their patience, understanding, and continued dedication to their profession.

“The commitment of our teachers remains central to the delivery of quality education across Ghana,” the statement noted.

The Ministry further assured teachers and the general public that it will continue to work closely with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen payroll systems and prevent similar challenges in the future.
