The Ministry of Health has suspended the Principal of the College of Nursing, Nanchina, Mr. Fredrick Anaba, with immediate effect pending a comprehensive administrative investigation into alleged over-admission of students and the unauthorized introduction of new academic programmes.
A statement issued and signed by Isaac Ofei Baah, Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Health on March 12, 2026, explained that the decision follows a query sent to the Principal on February 19, 2026 regarding the 2025/2026 admissions into the institution.
The statement noted that after reviewing the response submitted by Mr. Anaba, the Ministry determined that a full investigation was necessary to establish the facts surrounding the matter.
The statement further indicated that Mr. Anaba has been directed to hand over the administration and management of the College to the Acting Vice Principal in the interim to ensure the smooth running of the institution.
It added that the Ministry of Health remains committed to ensuring strict compliance with admission quotas and approved academic programmes across all health training institutions.
The statement also assured that further updates would be provided after the completion of the investigation.
