Missing Taadi girls: Calling for my resignation will not solve the problem – CID boss fires back

The Director General of the Police CID Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah says she cannot resign from her post as a section of the public has been demanding because she did not apply for the job.

Also, she says, her resignation will not solve the mystery surrounding the Takoradi missing girls.

“My position is not a position that I applied for. ….I don’t need to resign. Resigning is like resigning from the Ghana Police service, and the position is not something I applied for. When the time comes for me to be transferred, I will be transferred.

“When you have everybody calling for your resignation, you ask yourself, is that the one that will solve the problem. There’s a problem for us to solve and that is my focus. I want to bring whatever situation that we have at a very conclusive stage not to waste your time thinking you want to resign or not,” she said at the maiden Commonwealth Speaker Forum held in Accra Wednesday.

Calls for the CID boss to resign have surged following her utterances regarding the status of  police investigation into the missing girls incident and how the process has been handled.

She is on record to have said the police knows where they girls are and that they are fine, months before bodies suspected to be theirs were found in Takoradi in the former residence of the key suspect in the matter.

“We know where the girls are,” urging the families to “keep on keeping on”.

The missing girls, Priscilla Blessing Bentum was first kidnapped on August 17th 2018, while Ruthlove Quayeson was kidnapped on December 4, 2018 and Priscilla Mantsebeah Koranchie also kidnapped on December 21 2018.
