The Mobile Money Advocacy Group Ghana (MoMAG) has cautioned Mobile Money agents to desist from purported charges on deposits made on customers wallets and withdrawal.

According to them, customers are not to pay money for depositing money on their mobile wallets because deposits on customers own mobile money wallet is free of charge.

However, customers are required to go to agents shops with the phone the deposit will be made to. Without the phone, the agents will not receive commission on that transaction.

In an interview with Happy Kasiebo, the National secretary of MoMAG, Amoako Atta explained that cash out is also free of charge and customers are not meant to pay any money vendors.

” Customers should know that cash out is not made remotely but rather in the presence of the agent. Some customers go to the agents with a different phone and pretend to allow cash out but someone elsewhere will rather allow the cash out at the blind side of the agent, such practice will cause the agent”.
