The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has announced its intention to strike again from Thursday November 28, 2024.

According to the association, government has failed to reach an agreement with them, hence their intention to embark on a strike.

“We are writing to inform you that, due to lack of practical will to reach a complete solution affecting Mortuary Workers in Ghana, we intend to resume our STRIKE ACTION which has been in abeyance since Thursday, 26th September, 2024”.

MOWAG in a statement mentioned that, all efforts to reach a mutual agreement with government have proved futile.

“Despite our efforts to reach a mutually acceptable end, the issues that led to the initial strike action remain unresolved. We have been left with no choice but to take this decision to protect the interest of our members.”

The Association indicated that, the strike action resumes on Thursday November 28, 2024 until they receive a satisfactory response from government.

The Association has reiterated its commitment to having a productive discussion to resolve all outstanding matters.

“We hope that even at this late stage, we can still resolve our differences through constructive dialogue. We remain open and willing to work together for a lasting solution”.
