MP condemned for leading the youth astray

Member of Parliament of Gomoa East constituency Hon. Kojo Asemanyi has been condemned by Muslim leaders of his constituency for organizing a street jam in the celebration of the Eid – accusing him of carrying out “satanic” acts.
On Saturday night, Hon. Asemanyi blocked a main road to organize a ‘Sallah fest’ jam, disregarding calls by the leaders to discourage such celebrations.
Calls by road users to take the program to an accessible and spacious school park which was nearby to ease traffic congestion on the Adade-Tuba road which is an alternative road the links the central region to the capital city, Accra fell on deaf ears. The main road was blocked the whole night.
The event which was scheduled for 3pm turned out to be a night jam – which the Muslim leaders frowned upon and described as foreign to Islam.
The Member of Parliament has been accused of leading the Muslim youth astray by engaging them in “condemnable acts” that has no relation to the traditional Eid celebrations.
They have challenged him to rather provide scholarships for Muslim students and not activities that can jeopardize the moral fabric of Muslims.
A segment of the constituents expressed their displeasure over the MP’s participation in the said event that ran through the night, ignoring security risks.
“The MP could have easily organised this program at the Zion Park instead of blocking this busy road,” one of the drivers said
One of the opinion leaders in the constituency, Alhaji Ibrahim also said.
“Hon. Asemanyi knows nothing about Islam; we didn’t see him organizing such satanic acts during Christmas or Easter for his Christian brothers. He has not thought of bringing scholarships to the Muslim youth here but he is organizing these satanic acts for our boys and girls.”
“This is a condemnable act by a Member of Parliament who should be bringing development to the constituents and not acts that seek to lead our youth astray and further exposes young girls and boys to this midnight danger.”
“Is that all that he has for the Muslims in this constituency?”
“Destroys the moral fibre of Muslims, “he quizzed
“This is an act of irresponsibility and he must know he was voted to bring development to his people and not to be an MP for music music”
The events brought a lot of musicians to the Gomoa East constituency with musician D flex being among the main artistes
for the night.
