Gomoa Ojobi Chief Imam, Iddrisu Cassim has entreated Ghanaians, especially Muslim youth to desist from election violence prior to the 2024 general elections.

According to him, Islam is a peaceful religion that seeks to promote peace among individuals irrespective of tribe, religion and ethnicity.

Speaking at the Eid al-Aldha celebration today, 16th June 2024 at Gomoa Akosti Mosque, the Imam said the principles of our various religions should guide us in our everyday life to ensure unity among ourselves which will bring development to our dear nation.

Furthermore, the youth should not allow themselves for any dignitary or individual to persuade or entice them to involve in anything that will cause violence and hinder National development.

“If peaceful co-existence manifests in our nation, it will attract foreign investors which will enable the youth to get jobs”.

In addition, the Chief Imam of Gomoa Akosti Zongo, Abubakar Andu, pleaded with the government to come out with a structured system towards education to prevent high level of illiteracy among the Ghanaian populace.
