35-year-old Mortuary attendant, Solomon Nyarko has revealed that his daily prayer is for people to die so he can earn money to take care of himself and his family.

The young man, who has always dreamt of being a mortuary attendant said it is not his wish for people to die but with his line of job, “If people don’t die, then I am out of a job. So automatically, my prayer is for people to die so I can eat”.

In an interview with Rev Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9FM’s NsemPii he said, he cited the work of doctors to batters his point: “ even doctors pray for patients to be sick in order for them to come to the hospital for treatment so they can also earn a living. Same as journalists; they also pray for people to have issues so they can report as news else they will also be out of job”.

Solomon believes that each job has its own challenges but the passion and benefits one gets from it pushes one to keep doing it.

“Regardless of the job being difficult and challenging, I don’t think I can ever stop doing this. Apart from the fact that it’s sometimes scary it pays very well” he added. ”I believe this is what God has called me to do and even the Bible has stated that the hand that doesn’t work shouldn’t eat so I can’t stop doing this”.

Moving on he added, “I’m not doing this just because of the passion I have for it but also because I don’t want to stay idle. Being a mortuary attendant is way better than staying home unemployed. I am satisfied because I am able to earn a living to support my family”.
