MYO Global, in partnership with the Shai-Osudoku District Hospital, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, put smiles on the faces of many women through the Bu O’ Forfor Breast Screening exercise held at the Dodowa Market.
Bu O’ Forfor, a phrase in the Ga language, translates to “Respect Your Breast” — an ideology by MYO Global aimed at heightening awareness of breast care and encouraging proper attention to breast health.
Member of Parliament for the Shai-Osudoku Constituency and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Akweley Obenewaa Ocloo, present as Guest of Honor, applauded MYO Global for their efforts in the fight against breast cancer.
“The month of October is set as a month to create awareness on Breast Cancer, and Breast Cancer is a very dangerous illness; if the opportunity has come to you, I will entreat each and every woman here to take advantage of it and get checked.”

Project Lead for the Bu O’ Forfor initiative, Ms. Najat, in an interview with Happy FM’s Kobina Baidoo, revealed that the initiative has been fashioned to “give back to society” and empower women through vital education on breast cancer.
“The Breast Screening project has been going on for the past three years, initiated by MYO Global’s Founder, Professor Douglas Boateng. The Bu O’ Forfor initiative has a goal, and that goal is to decrease the number of deaths that come as a result of breast cancer.”
She added that the initiative educates women on how to detect breast cancer early and take precautionary measures to prevent it.

Acting Medical Superintendent, Dr. Alexander Adjei of the Shai-Osudoku District Hospital, also expressed great enthusiasm for the initiative, emphasizing that it aligns firmly with the hospital’s values as a
“Hospital that is focused on making impact in society and being present when needed by the good people of Dodowa and the district.”

The event climaxed on a lively note with an exciting cooking competition that brought smiles to all market women, and a sense of togetherness to participants. The traders were obliged to form a four-member group, and were presented as Cassava Plantain, Aaba eee, Husband and Wife, and Chop Bar.

After a time bound display of kitchen mastery, Cassava Plantain emerged winners.
The event concluded on a successful note, with MYO Global confident that its efforts will make a lasting impact on the women of the Dodowa Market and the surrounding communities.
