Ghanaian female musician, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, popularly known as Mzvee has reacted to people who criticize her for not writing her own songs by stating that writing music is not her talent.
Speaking in an interview with Happy FM’s DJ Advicer on the Ayekoo After Drive Show, she said: “I don’t write my own songs. Many people write my songs. It’s not strange. It is not a problem. Beyoncé does not write her music but she is the biggest female musician. It’s not about you doing everything. I sing, deal with it!”
According to her, she believes it is not a must to write, produce and sing your songs all by yourself because “people are just talented where they are talented”. She added that she acknowledges people who write her songs. She acknowledged Lynx Entertainment CEO, Richie and Ghanaian musician,Akwaboah for writing her songs.
The singer, who has been out of the music scenes for some time after parting ways with her record label Lynx Entertainment, made a comeback with her new reggae single dubbed ‘Sheriff’.
