The Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1, is expected to hold a meeting with his management to discuss the way forward in dealing with their clients and the operation of the company.

According to the Public Relations Officer of Menzgold, Nii Armaah Amarteifio, NAM1 would be given some time to rest for a while after he was released from police custody on Tuesday.

He told Accra-based Citi FM that, “He is tired so the next step for him now is to get some rest and after that, we will have a meeting with him as management to see the way forward.”

He said after the rest, NAM1 would hold a meeting to among other things, outline the way forward for Menzgold and also deliberate on how customers of the company can be paid their investments.

Prosecutors have accused Nana Appiah, his wife, Ms Rose Tetteh; and his sister, Ms Benedicta Mensah, of using Menzgold as a tool to defraud more than 16,000 people of GH¢1,680,920,000.

The three accused persons – described as the principal officers of Menzgold – along with Menzgold and its sister company, Brew Marketing Consult Limited, both represented by Nana Appiah, have been slapped with 13 counts.

The counts are defrauding by false pretences, abetment to defraud by false pretences, carrying deposit business without a licence, abetment of sale of minerals without a licence, sale of minerals without a licence, abetment to the unlawful deposit-taking, unlawful deposit-taking and money laundering.

Nana Appiah has pleaded not guilty to all the charges. His wife and his sister are, however, at large.
