Seasoned radio broadcaster, Nana Kwabena Bobie Ansah is saying that the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and the Court should be strategic and tactical in handling the alleged coup plot case.

According to him, President Nana Addo while in opposition said worse than what they are alleging some of the persons standing trial for coup attempt have said.

He revealed that Nana Addo can make the security apparatus arrest former president John Mahama if he dares make some of the utterances he made as opposition leader.

He made these comments when speaking on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show. “We were in this country and president Nana Addo when in opposition met his members in London and told them there is hardship in Ghana so they should come and rise temperatures. He said this whilst in opposition, the tape is there, you can have access to it. So if he said this whilst in opposition, what is wrong when another person is saying he will embark on a lawful protest? Since when did demonstration become wrong in Ghana?”

“I won’t blame Nana Addo because when they were in opposition, they had it cheap. They were dealing with cowards, let Mahama say some of the things Nana Addo said whilst in opposition today. I‘m telling you Nana can make them arrest Mahama if he dares. Yes, he can because the NPP as a political party doesn’t respect members of the NDC apart from Rawlings,” he added.

His comments come on the back of charge against Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Dr. Benjamin Agordzor for abetment to commit treason for his alleged involvement in the coup plot.

ACP Dr. Agordzor has been held in the custody of the BNI since Monday, November 4, 2019.

The embattled police officer who appeared before the court yesterday said he is innocent of the charge leveled against him by the state.
