The Eastern Regional Chairman of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Tawiah Boateng has said the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would have been dead by now had Ghanaians fail to vote for him in the last elections.
Nana losing the last elections would have been a disaster for the New Patriotic Party as the party may bar him from contesting in 2020 as that alone will kill him.
According to him, the December 7, 2016 elections was the cliff hanger for the then opposition leader who is now the president.
He claimed that the story would have been different if Nana had lost the last elections.
Nana Addo losing the last elections would have spell doom for the opposition leader who has been gunning for power for the past forty years.
Tawiah Boateng otherwise known as ‘Opoman’ made this comment interacting with Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show on Accra-based Happy FM.
He said the sight of the then opposition leader being teased  as a ‘serial loser would have spell doom for his political career in the country.
He claimed that during the last  elections, the opposition leader was not in the best of shape hence his decision to be traveling abroad for periodic check-ups.
Now that he has won the government apparatus are taking  very good care of his health needs and now looking plumpy on television.
He noted that the situation would have been different had he lost the elections adding that the New Patriotic Party(NPP) as a party would have been wearing red and black mourning his untimely death.
