The National Tripartite Committee, consisting of representatives from the government, employers, and organized labor, has initiated negotiations on the determination of the 2025 Minimum Wage.

This crucial meeting commenced yesterday, February 03, 2025.

The negotiations for the base pay, which directly affects public sector salaries, are set to follow the discussion on the minimum wage.

According to a statement from the presidency, negotiations are already behind schedule.

The statement mentioned that, per the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act, they were originally expected to be completed by the end of April 2024.

“Government is calling on social partners (government, employers, organised labour) to work expeditiously to complete the negotiations in time to inform the 2025 Budget”.
