Accra Metropolitan District Chairperson of the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled, Gladese Agbenu, has urged vigilante groups to abort plans of causing havoc during the upcoming general elections scheduled for December 7th.

The disability spokesperson made this appeal on behalf of persons with disability in Ghana, during a peace walk organized earlier today in Accra by the Save The Eye Foundation Ghana.

“I am pleading with these vigilante groups that are being paid during this election period to ignite violence to consider us the people with disabilities; if the country is to break into chaos right now, persons with disabilities have nowhere to go. In one way or the other they also have family members or friends who have disabilities of various kinds such as blindness, deaf and dumb and others.” Agbenu said in an interview with happyghana.com.

Earlier today, October 30, 2024 Save The Eye Foundation embarked on a National Disability Peace Walk in Accra which involved many accessibility ambassadors and persons with disability campaigning for peace.
