The first Vice Chair of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Klottey Korley Consistency, Julius Neequaye Kotey aka Logas, has predicted failure for Dr. Kwabena Duffuor should he contest former President John Mahama in the party’s flagbearer race ahead of election 2024.

He described former President Mahama as the favorite to lead the party in the 2024 election “and he will win the NDC’s primaries assuredly.”

“Dr. Duffuor contesting former President Mahama is an act in futility. He will not even poll 2 percent of what Mahama will manage,” he told Don Kwabena Prah on Happy98.9FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ political talk show.

According to him, Dr. Duffuor has lost touch with the party as he went into hiding after serving under the late President John Evans Atta-Mills.

Using the recent NDC regional elections as an example, he revealed all those who publicly supported former President John Mahama and campaigned with his name won the elections, whiles all those known as supporters of Dr. Duffuor lost.

To him, the Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrissu stands a better chance in the flagbearer race than Dr. Duffuor.

Chairman Logas, described election 2024 as the time for former President John Mahama.

A believer in democracy, Chairman Logas argues consensus building can also be found in democracy and charged all contenders of the flagbearer race to rally behind former President Mahama.

“The money to be used for our internal primaries should rather be used for the main election and that is what we have to do. All opponents should agree for former President Mahama to go unopposed,” he emphasized.
