The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has commenced the interview process for applicants vying for positions of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Ashanti Region.

This initiative is part of the party’s efforts to select capable and forward-thinking leaders to promote local government development. The exercise has garnered significant interest, with party members from across the region actively involved.

Over the course of three days, the selection committee will interview 343 applicants from all 43 metropolitan, municipal, and district areas in the region. Day one is dedicated to interviewing 88 aspirants from 11 MMDAs.

Regional party leaders have stressed the importance of this process in identifying individuals who can effectively execute the NDC’s development goals at the local level.

Aspirants are expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of the socio-economic challenges facing their areas and propose actionable solutions for issues such as unemployment, poor infrastructure, sanitation, education, and healthcare.

The NDC sees the interview process as a vital step in selecting leaders who can drive positive change in their communities and align with the party’s broader vision for national development.
