The National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the weekend elected their National officers of the Party at the fantasy dome Trade fair- Accra. During the sorting and counting of votes, all danced to Evangelist IK Aning’s latest hit ‘Bobolebobo’ whiles jubilating.

The song was redone with some lyrics changed to fit their political purposes. Happy FM in an attempt to find out if the NDC took permission from the rightful owner before taking such initiative called the Evangelist and this is what he had to say;

“No I’ve not sold it to the NDC, I didn’t make the song for political purposes.

I’ve heard it being used, it’s the same as mine but some of the words have been changed,” he said this in an interview with DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo’ after drive show.

“Sometimes some people use aggression to take things away from you because they know you will refuse them if they asked. I’ve left everything for my management. I’ve asked them to call and demand for an explanation, I don’t want things to get messy. I didn’t do it for politics,” he added.

According to him the action he and his management team would take will depend on the kind of explanation the NDC will give to them.

“If they come out with a good explanation, we will know the way forward but if they don’t, then we will have them pay us for using it and also organize a press conference telling Ghanaians what they did, so that it doesn’t seem like I gave it to them without having a problem with it,” he detailed.

DJ Advicer asked what he is expecting from the NDC.

“My expectations are that there will be respect and decency in dealing with it. They should realize that I have done a good job which was meant purposely for the salvation of mankind not for politics,” he said

“I wouldn’t want this to be dragged in court since I could have some fans in the NDC who will be disappointed in me and moreover money is something we will all leave behind. We are all Ghanaians, we are all one people, songs come and go, but I hope they do the right thing and give something to support the work of God, he added.

He acknowledged that even though it was without his permission, the NDC has made his song more popular than it used to be.
