The leadership of the opposition of National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Brong Ahafo Region has postponed its scheduled unity walk to next year.
Below is a statement signed by the regional chairman of the party Opoku Atuahene.
‘As a party we are all trying our best to reflect, restore hope and adequately replan to recapture power in 2020 with a united team.
Though not easy but gradually we are getting there through the efforts of all of you as family with the reorganisation at our various branches and the unity walk which has given a nationwide symbolism to the unity we all seek to achieve as a party.
As a party, December 31 is very historic to us and worth celebrating. And this year’s anniversary is slated to take place in Ho on December 31 2017 a day after the planned unity walk in Techiman.
In view of this, Brong Ahafo NDC has decided in solidarity to POSTPONE the unity walk scheduled for December 30,2017 to January 6,2018 to enable all of us to adequately prepare for the historic anniversary in Ho.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused all of our party supporters in the region.
