The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on its supporters to avoid taking over or destroying government properties allegedly mishandled by members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The caution comes in response to reports of unlawful activities linked to individuals associated with the NDC.

In a statement issued on December 11, the party emphasized the importance of lawful conduct during the transition period, advising its supporters to report any suspected cases of theft or mismanagement of government assets to relevant authorities. The directive specifically targets the party’s youth organizers and regional and constituency executives, urging them to discourage such actions and ensure due process is followed.

The NDC stressed that government officials affiliated with the NPP should not be harassed or obstructed in their duties until the transition is complete. It advised supporters against invading government offices or disrupting normal operations, emphasizing that any seizure of assets, including consumables, fixtures, or relief items, without proper reporting to the police, constitutes theft.

Additionally, the party raised concern over post-election recruitment by some government agencies. Supporters have been asked to report such activities to constituency or regional chairmen, who will liaise with the transition team for further action.

The NDC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and order during the transition and ensuring accountability through legal channels.

Good morning

Att: organisers and youth organisers at Regional and constituency, Security Coordinators.

Please ensure immediate implementation of the above directives in a strict order with immediate effect.
1. Outgoing government appointees and Npp party supporters stealing and attempting to move or hide government properties: You are to organise, make official complaints to the police to effect an arrest and ensure such properties are retrieved by the police whereas we ensure they are not released until a new government takes over fully.

2. Post-elections recruitment: wherever this is happening kindly report to constituency chairmen and regional chairmen, who will take appropriate measures to report the same to the transition team for further directives and action.

3. Npp faithful found to be possessing goverment asset: report them to the police and ensure he or she provide basis for the possession or the police should impound same until further investigations.

4. Government appointees/NPP officials working or possessing government assets: these individuals should be left untouched until the transition is over because a government is still in place and as such officials should be left to perform their normal duties until a new government takes over irrespective of their party affiliation.

5. Entry into government offices and premises without a cause other than looking for jobs: let’s ensure our youths do not invade any functioning government property to disrupt normal business or cause disturbance for any reason until the transition is over.

6. Ensure that no one ceases government assets particularly consumables, fixtures, relief items etc without reporting to the police, that will amount to stealing.

7. No one must issue instructions for invasion without the consent of party structures: Regional organisers/ youth at the regional level, constituency organisers/ youth at the constituency level.

8. Consult with pcs and mps on this matter before taking action when necessary.
