The Dormaa Central Municipal Director of Health Services, Mr. Daniel Konka, has reaffirmed the Ghana Health Service’s commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage by 2030, with a strong focus on improving equitable access to quality healthcare across communities.

He made this known at the official launch of the Network of Practice (NoP) at the Danyame Health Centre in the Dormaa Central Municipality.

According to Mr. Konka, the Network of Practice is designed to create a strong linkage among health facilities to promote collaboration, coordination and shared learning within the healthcare system.

He explained that the initiative seeks to improve healthcare delivery by encouraging cooperation among facilities, regardless of where patients access care.

This, he said, will lead to better treatment outcomes, reduced duplication of services and the efficient use of limited health resources.

Mr. Konka stressed that the Network of Practice demonstrates the Ghana Health Service’s dedication to ensuring that all patients receive high-quality care, irrespective of location.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Human Resource Director at the Bono Regional Health Directorate, Ms. Gifty Ohenewaa, described the launch of the Danyame Network of Practice as a major milestone for both the community and the region.

She noted that the initiative translates the government’s Universal Health Coverage policy into practical actions at the grassroots level.

Ms. Ohenewaa further explained that the inclusion of both public and private health facilities within the network creates a common platform for collaboration, capacity building and mutual support.

She added that the Danyame NoP is expected to serve as a model for other sub-districts, demonstrating effective cooperation and accelerating progress towards universal health coverage.

On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive of Dormaa Central, Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, expressed gratitude to the Ghana Health Service for selecting the Danyame Health Centre for the Network of Practice initiative.

He attributed the selection to the dedication of the chief and elders of Danyame in supporting the development of the facility.

Mr. Ameyaw also pledged to work closely with the Member of Parliament to ensure the completion of the Danyame Maternity Ward, a community-initiated project aimed at improving maternal healthcare services in the area.
