President John Dramani Mahama has held talks with Wisconsin State Governor Tony Evers at the Presidency in Accra, as part of the governor’s trade mission to Ghana aimed at strengthening economic and business relations.
The meeting focused on expanding trade, investment and agricultural cooperation between Ghana and the U.S. state of Wisconsin.
During the discussions, President Mahama highlighted the government’s key economic initiatives, including the 24-Hour Economy programme and the newly established Accelerated Export Development Advisory Committee, which are intended to position Ghana as a competitive, export-driven economy.
According to the President, the visit reflects growing international confidence in Ghana’s economy following the successful completion of the country’s International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme.
He also expressed the government’s readiness to deepen agricultural cooperation and explore other business opportunities with Wisconsin.
Governor Tony Evers, who is leading a business delegation to Ghana, reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening global partnerships and promoting Wisconsin as a destination for investment and business growth.
The engagement forms part of efforts to deepen economic cooperation between Ghana and international partners while attracting investment to support growth and job creation.
President Mahama reiterated that Ghana remains open for business and is committed to building lasting partnerships that promote shared prosperity.
