The Ghana Police Service has intercepted 1,054 vehicles in the Greater Accra Region during an ongoing road traffic enforcement exercise targeting the unauthorised use of sirens, horns, strobe lights, beacon lights and illegal vehicle modifications.
A statement issued by the Ghana Police Service said drivers found to have violated the Road Traffic Regulations were educated on the relevant laws, while unauthorised devices and illegal modifications were removed and seized for further action.
The statement explained that the nationwide enforcement exercise forms part of the Service’s efforts to promote discipline, enhance road safety and ensure compliance with road traffic regulations.
It disclosed that 4,627 vehicles have been intercepted across the country since the exercise began on June 15, 2026.
The Ghana Police Service assured the public that similar operations would continue nationwide to improve road safety and ensure strict adherence to the country’s road traffic laws.
