NDC kicks off MMDCE interview process in Ashanti Region to select visionary leaders

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a warning to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding the removal of their campaign billboards. The NDC asserts that such actions could threaten the stability of the country’s democracy.

In a statement released by Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Mahama’s campaign spokesperson, the party condemned the Tema Metropolitan Assembly Chief Executive for removing a billboard put up by their campaign team. The statement highlighted that Alliance Media, the company responsible for the billboard, had obtained all necessary permits, yet the billboard was still dismantled.”Alliance Media, a legally registered Ghanaian advertising business, has the rightful permission to mount Out-of-Home (OOH) and Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) sites nationwide.

They diligently pay the required annual fees to the TMA and other assemblies. Therefore, it is utterly unacceptable for the TMA chief executive to tear down their legally placed billboard, which the Mahama Campaign rented and paid for,” part of the statement read.The NDC described the removal of their legally placed billboard, which had been rented and paid for by the Mahama Campaign, as completely unacceptable. They also accused the NPP of similar interference in other areas, such as Ablekuma North, where a billboard for their parliamentary candidate was obstructed.

The Mahama campaign team has warned that they will mobilize their supporters nationwide to prevent any further removals should such incidents persist and called on the NPP to campaign peacefully and respect the rights of others.
