Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has responded swiftly to President Akufo- Addo’s statement on his stance on the Free Senior High School programme.
According to Mr. Mahama, there are implementation problems with the Free Senior High School policy, including poor funding, ineffective double track system, and poor quality of food given to students.
He said the NDC will fix these problems with three (3) realistic approaches.
Speaking during his campaign tour in Old Ningo in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday 17th October, 2024, Mr. Mahama reiterated his commitment in completing all outstanding E- block projects and decentralising the feeding of students.
‘’ I said I will change your centralised feeding system, I am going to decentralize the feeding of our children in our secondary schools, the money is going directly to their schools and the schools would be responsible for the procurement of foodstuffs”.
“If you are listening to me that is our position on Free SHS, we are going to make sure that it works better, its implementation is better and the children have access to text books and good facilities.” he added.
