Network of Women in Broadcasting announces inaugural Executive Council

The Network of Women in Broadcasting (NOWIB) is pleased to announce its inaugural Executive Council, which was recently elected to serve a three-year term from 2025 to 2028.

Comprising approximately 80 members from diverse media platforms across Ghana, NOWIB represents a collective of professionals united by a shared vision of advancing women’s roles in broadcasting.

Under the patronage of veteran broadcasters Nana Yaa Konadu and Nana Yaa Brefo, NOWIB brings together experienced media professionals committed to supporting and empowering women in the industry.

“We are excited to establish our Executive Council, which will help us achieve our goal of creating a supportive ecosystem for women in broadcasting,” said Maame Biamah Akwafo, President of NOWIB. “We aim to foster a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and growth, ultimately paving the way for future generations of women in media.”

Executive Council Members:

3. _General Secretary: Bridget Mensah
4. Deputy General Secretary:_ Fati Shaibu-Ali
5. Treasurer:_ Georgina Afia Kwarteng
6. Deputy Treasurer:_ Gloria Anderson
7. PR & Communications Officer:_ Patience Opokua (Abena Opokua Ahwenee)
8. Deputy PR & Communications Officer:_ Abena Nyarko Kweikumah
9. Organiser:_ Diana Akosua Adutwumwaa Britwum
10. Deputy Organiser:_ Gifty Darko Obeng (EFYA SUGAR)

NOWIB is committed to providing professional development opportunities, creating mentorship programs, fostering networking, and supporting young women entering the media industry.

The organization will officially inaugurate in March 2025.
