Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has sworn in Lawywer Kwabena Boateng, the newly elected member for the Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti Region.

Lawyer Kwabena Boateng now officially replaces the late Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah who was the Member of Parliament for the Ejisu constituency until his demise on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Kwabena Boateng now becomes the new Ejisu MP after securing 27,782 votes which constituted 55.79% of the total ballots cast to defeat his nearest contender Kwabena Owusu Aduomi who amassed 43.24% with his 21,536 votes in the bye election held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Both the majority and the minority in the House welcomed Lawyer Kwabena Boateng and wished him the very best in his new position as the Member of Parliament for the Ejisu constituency.
