President of the New Ghana Social Justice Forum, Yahaya Alhassan, has publicly endorsed the appointment of Anthony Kwasi Sarpong as the Commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

His endorsement comes amidst disagreements from members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding Sarpong’s appointment.

Alhassan hailed the appointment as a great move in the fight against corruption, emphasizing the need for openness and transparency in Ghana’s revenue collection.

He stated, “We cry to end corruption, we cry for openness and transparency, so appointing Anthony K. Sarpong is a step in the right direction. I believe whoever chastises the appointment of Anthony K. Sarpong is an enemy of Ghana.”

He further urged Ghanaians to unite and support Sarpong, highlighting the importance of having a trustworthy professional in a key sector like revenue mobilization.

“We need a professional who is good in money mobilization, transparency, and we need a trustworthy person,” Alhassan added.
