Ernest Yaw Anim was sworn in as the representative for the Kumawu constituency on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, by Speaker of of Parliament Alban Bagbin.
This comes after the Electoral Commission confirmed that Anim had won the by-election held on May 23, 2023 with 15,264 votes, becoming the MP for Kumawu, after the demise of Philip Basoa.
Anim received 15,264 votes in the by-election on May 23, 2023, defeating NDC’s Kwasi Amankwaa and two independents, both named Kwaku Duah.
Kwaku Duah (1) received 2,478 votes while the other Kwaku Duah received 62 votes. Kwasi Amankwaa of the NDC received 3,723 votes.
