The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has assured Ghanaians of a peaceful election come December 7, 2020.

This assurance was given to the Ghanaian populace at the weekly press conference of the party held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso and a member of the Defence Committee of Parliament. Seth Acheampong speaking at the press conference noted that unlike the opposition NDC that has planned to reject the results of the 2020 elections, thereby causing unrest, the NPP is assuring Ghanaians of a peaceful election. “We wish to assure the general public that the 2020 elections will be peaceful”, he said.

He reasoned that every election is always more peaceful than the previous one and as such Ghanaians can expect that the 2020 election will be more peaceful than the previous elections. “Every election since 1992 has been more peaceful than the previous one. This is despite the occasional skirmishes we see in by-elections like Atiwa, Akwatia, Chereponi, Talensi and Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency. Therefore, I know 2020 will be better and it shall be well”.

Seth Acheampong was hopeful that Ghanaians will vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP because of their good works.

“President Akufo-Addo and the NPP are winning simply because Ghanaians appreciate the remarkable efforts that this government has made and continues to make to improve the lives of the ordinary Ghanaians, up and down the country”, he added.
