NPP behind woes of Asantehene Osei Tutu II- NDC

The Deputy National Organizer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress has pointed accusing fingers at some elements in the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) as being behind the alleged money laundering scandal involving Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the Asante king.
He said the United Kingdom (UK) story is a calculated attempt by these elements in the party to see the revered king of the Ashanti kingdom disgraced with the concocted story.
Mr. Joshua Akamba made this comment as a panelist on the Happy FM’s socio-political afternoon programme called ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah in Accra.
He further stated that only time chiefs in this country are disgraced is when the NPP is in government.
“It is during the reign of the NPP that late Chief of Dagbon was gruesomely murdered in broad day light. I’m not surprised this is happening to the Asantehene because it has always been the trademark of these elements in the NPP.” Akamba said.
He said at a point in time they even accused the revered king of the largest tribe in the country of being an NDC sympathizer.
He called on the NPP to offer an unqualified apology to Otumfour Osei Tutu II for bringing his name into disrepute in the said alleged money laundering scandal.
According to him, it is same thing they did with the video of the Asante king dancing with ex-president John Dramani Mahama that went viral when he inaugurated the runway for the Kumasi Airport during his reign.
