Voting in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary has successfully concluded, with the electoral process taking place across all 276 constituencies in the country on Saturday, November 4, 2023. The primary aims to determine the NPP’s flagbearer for the upcoming 2023 general elections, as the party seeks to secure another term in office and break the 8-year election cycle jinx.

Over 204,000 party members were anticipated to participate in the primary, with high stakes for the candidates vying for the flagbearer position. Four prominent figures were in contention: Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and former Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh.

While all the candidates expressed optimism about their chances, Dr. Bawumia emerged as the frontrunner, with Kennedy Agyapong as his closest contender.

As the votes were cast and being tallied, provisional results began to emerge, providing an initial glimpse into the primary’s outcome. Some of the provisional results from different constituencies are as follows:
