Former Minister of Youth and Sports under the NDC administration, Nii Lante Vanderpuiye reacted to Vice President, Dr. Bawumia’s statements on NPP’s promises to Ghana. Nii Lantey says government has not delivered in the area of sports.

He was speaking on the back of the Vice President’s Town Hall Meeting held on Tuesday, where he indicated government had fulfilled its promises in the area of sports.

In an interview on Ghana’s number one Sports Station, the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio Constituency said, “Government has done nothing to develop sports in the country.

“Bawumia didn’t say anything about sports. Whatever they said in their manifesto has not been achieved”.

“The Vice President is dishonest. If all the things they said in their manifesto has not been fulfilled and then he says his party have fulfilled 79% of the promises then he is not been truthful”, he indicated.

He further said, “If the Sports Minister is able to finance a project at Anyinanim and is not able to renovate the Baba Yara Sports Stadium then it makes no sense”.

Nii Lante stated that the government has a misplaced priority in the area of sports. “Misplaced priority, they haven’t delivered anything in sports compared to that of the Bukom Sports Emporium, Cape Coast Sports Stadium. Former President John Mahamah was able to deliver facilities and infrastructure for sports”.
