Aide to the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Kofi Tonto has debunked the assertion that, the NPP is against improving the Free Senior High School policy.
According to him, “ no policy can go to the AES without some form of review.
He says, the assertion is a deliberate attempt by the NDC to undermine the policy, adding that, the policy will be maintained and enhanced.
Elikem Kotoko believes that, President Akuffo- Addo has missed the point on the growing concerns of parents about the Free SHS policy.
He says, the quality of education has dropped and teachers have been stripped of disciplinary powers resulting in the lack of training amongst senior high school students.
His comments come after the president, Nana Akuffo- Addo made a statement at the 2024 Ghana Bar Association Conference held in Kumasi on Monday, September 9, 2024 that, parents who can afford to pay fees for the education of their wards should send them to fee paying private schools.
