The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has strongly criticized President John Mahama over what he describes as an attempt to unlawfully terminate the appointments of Ghanaian youth who have legally secured jobs.

The government through Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 announced the revocation of all appointments and recruitments made in the Public Service after December 7.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, questioned the President’s commitment to upholding the Constitution, barely a month after taking the Presidential oath. He argued that the reported dismissals lack legal justification and contradict the very Constitution President Mahama swore to uphold.

“Where from this attempt to terminate legitimate and lawful appointments of hardworking Ghanaian youth who have complied with due process of law to secure appointments?” he questioned.

“The President should know that there is no legal ground for terminating any appointment known as ‘good governance practices and principles,” he added.

Expressing his resolve to challenge the decision, Nana B announced that he would take legal action to protect the affected workers. He called on his lawyers, Nana Baffour Awuah Esq and Nicholas Lenin Anane Agyei Esq, to prepare to defend the Constitution and ensure that justice is served.
