The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to call their supporters to order and put an end to post-election violence reported across the country.

Speaking at a press conference at the NPP headquarters in Accra on Thursday, January 23, 2025, the party’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, expressed concern over the conduct of NDC supporters following the December 2024 elections.

According to Mr. Ahiagbah, despite the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, graciously conceding defeat for the sake of peace, NDC youth have allegedly seized public and government properties.

He criticized the silence of key NDC leaders, including Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, and President John Dramani Mahama, suggesting their inaction indicates support for the actions of their supporters.

Mr. Ahiagbah called on the NDC government and its leadership to take immediate action to curb the violence, ensure order, and hold those involved in such unlawful activities accountable. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and rule of law during this critical period.
